Shopping Haul: The Body Shop.

Hi guys, how’s your week going? I’ve been off work today and I’ve had a lovely relaxing, chilled day, so I’m feeling great! A couple of months ago now I was invited to my first Body Shop Party at a friends house and I am now a Body Shop convert! I am absolutely loving everything and I can’t stop buying. So I thought I would share with you my personal favourites at the moment. And guess what I got the chance to mess around with my camera too 😁

My personal favourite out of them all is the ‘Satsuma Energising Lotion‘, it smells absolutely amazing! I really love how it makes my skin feel and smell. I have been complemented on it so many times too, everyone seems to love it. And it’s only £3.00!

The ‘Satsuma Shower Gel‘ complements the body lotion perfectly. It is very hard wearing and lasts the whole day. It is only a small container though and I wished it came in a bigger version! You can buy this for £4.00, which is a little pricey for the size, but I promise it is definitely worth it! I love the smell of the ‘Coconut Shower Cream‘ too. It also has a much smoother texture with it being a cream rather than a gel. It leaves your skin again feeling super soft and the distinct smell is certain to get people wondering what your wearing! This product is also £4.00.

I can honestly say that the ‘VITAMIN E Aqua Boost Essence Lotion‘ is the best face lotion I have ever used to wipe off remaining makeup. I have had a lot of problems in the past with allergic reactions to face lotions and I have had no problem whatsoever with this product. It also leaves your face feeling fresh and soft which most other face lotions don’t. You can buy this for £9.50 and it’s worth every penny!

I hadn’t heard of a BB cream before I purchased the ‘All-in-One Body Shop BB Cream‘ but apparently it has been around for a while and many other brands sell it. I think this product is like magic, ha!! It is like a foundation but then isn’t a foundation, it’s very hard to explain. You rub the cream into your face and it brings out your natural colours, so it’s different for everyone. You just have to try it to understand what I mean, but it is a great substitute for foundation when your in a rush and don’t have the time to mess about with contouring and normal foundation. This FANTASTIC product is £12.00, definitely give it a try.

The ‘Coconut Hand Cream‘ is just the perfect size for your hand bag. It smells like coconuts and really soothes your hands, what more could you want? This little treasure is only £4.00.

I’m thinking with Christmas coming up (we are only 3 months away, can you believe it?!) that all these products would make great gifts! I will definitely be getting The Body Shop products for my loved ones. Their Christmas Catalogue is out very soon and I really can’t wait to have a browse through. Check out their website, to view all these products, and keep an eye out for their festive products in their Christmas Catalogue, I’m sure they will be divine!

Take care,
Emily Jane

NEW Camera Kit.

As you all may know by know, I have recently started learning about photography, and I’m now ready to start putting what I have learnt into action! I have spent a lot of time reading and researching into what equipment I need to improve my photos but most importantly protect my camera when I am out and about taking photos.

Having found out what I needed I went online to try and find the items. I have come to understand that photography is a very expensive hobby! But I also found out with the certain small accessories I need, it has been said that it doesn’t really matter if you don’t have the top notch brands, you just need them to simply protect your camera. So, with being a new amateur photographer, I decided to try and find the cheapest option available, there’s no point spending too much money if you don’t need to right?!

I headed to eBay, where else do you find things for cheap?! With my camera being new I didn’t really want to buy second hand products, but I still found them for cheap brand new! Here’s what I bought …

They came as two different packages, one from a company called ‘Sentik’, and the other from a company called ‘K&F concept’, which is quite a well known camera accessory online shop.
In the first package was a camera lens cleaning kit with a hurricane blower, microfiber brush and a cleaning cloth. (All pictured above) This kit was only £4.29, what a bargain! This kit speaks for itself really it is needed to keep the lens clean, to protect it and of course keep your photos as clear as possible.
In the second package there are UV CPL & FLD filters which came with their own little case, a lens hood, a cleaning cloth, a lens cover string and a keeper pen set. (All pictured above). This set was a little pricer at £15.99, but still very cheap when you compare it to other brands or if you were to buy each item separately. The filters are used to again protect the lens from any damage, if dropped or hit against something. The UV filter doesn’t change the image at all, it’s just a layer of protection for the lens. The other two however, change your image by working with light in different ways. (I need to do more research on these, they came as an added extra, I only wanted the UV filter really!). The lens hood is used to help make your photos better as it blocks out unwanted light, making your image stronger and balanced. I made sure I got a 58mm set too, as I have a 18-55mm lens at the moment.

I hope this post has been of some help. Good old eBay saves the day again! I can’t wait to try out my new little accessories tomorrow. Do you have any advice on anything else you think I need to protect my camera or make my images better? I know that a tripod is definitely on the cards soon! Let me know below.

Bye for now,
Emily Jane

New Make-Up Haul.

Hello everyone!

Sorry again for my lack of posts, I’ve got so much going on at the moment that I just haven’t found the time! I had a day off work on Tuesday and decided to treat myself to a shopping and cinema day with my little sister. It was a really lovely day, it was nice to do something other than work, very relaxed too and it’s always nice to spend time with my sister. We went to see ‘Me Before You’ at the cinema, it was a fantastic film although very emotional! I’ll be blogging all about it at the weekend. I also treated myself to a few new makeup bits, so I thought I would share them with you all..

They even come with their own stand/case too!

I finally got round to buying myself some ‘Real Technique’ brushes. I’ve wanted some for so long but always thought they were abit pricey but there was an offer on in Superdrug and I decided to just go for it! I’ve only bought ‘The Core Collection Kit’ but I’m looking into buying the others very soon, once I’ve given these a go. The kit includes a detailer brush, a buffing brush, a pointed foundation brush and a contour brush. The collection was £20.99, and was part of a 3 for 2 offer on all beauty and cosmetics at Superdrug at the moment! I recommend you get to your nearest shop now..

I have been following ‘Zoella’ on Instagram and reading her blog recently and I saw that she had some new products out, so I thought I’d give something from her collect a go. I went for the ‘Double Creme, Body Creme’ which smells divine so I can’t wait to try it out on my skin! This product again was on offer for only £5.

‘Sinful Colours Professional’ are a new nail varnish brand exclusive to Superdrug at the moment. They have some really great colours in their collection but I went for a nice neutral colour, just to try it out before buying more of the collection. They are priced at £2.00 each at the moment so not too bad at all.

I’m all about the neutral colours at the moment and when I came across this beauty in the ‘Maybelline’ section I had to have it! I have quite a few of this brand now and I just love the colours and texture, it feels great on your lips. And funny enough, it smells good too, ha! I just love a new lipstick! I think this one must have been a popular one as it was more expensive than some of the others, this particular colour was £7.99!

I bought two products from ‘Rimmel London’. One is their new ‘Extreme Black, Volume Flash x 10 Mascara’ which I believe is amazing! I’ve heard a lot of people rave about it so I thought I’d give it a go myself, I LOVE big thick lashes! It was £5.99, a great price for mascara! The other is an oldie but a goldie, Rimmels ‘Wake Me Up Concealer’. I needed a new concealer and I know that I can rely on this brand. I have tried so many different ones lately which just haven’t been right for me so I’m back to the original which I’m sure won’t let me down! It’s smooth texture and perfect colour tone works wonders for me, and it was only £5.49, which was even better.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think? Let me know below.

Keep Smiling,
Emily Jane
